       Academics and Learning Environment

      Chowan University has 62 full-time and 29 part-time faculty members, and offers a student-to-faculty ratio of 16:1. Chowan University offers 28 majors with the most popular being business administration, physical education and psychology. The least popular are religion, music and mathematics. The school has a general core requirement as well as a religion requirement. Cooperative education is not offered.        B Student Support and Success

      Chowan offers its entire student body a tutoring program located in the campus library. Students request a tutor in any area of study by filling out an online tutor request form. Student tutors work one on one with students to provide this service four nights a week at no cost. Chowan also has Camp 121, a tutoring center that gives students a quiet space for individual studying between the hours of 9 and 5. Individual and group study sessions are frequently held at Camp 121 as well.

      Chowan University provides dedicated guidance for academic, career and religion. The average freshman year GPA is 2.4.

       Support for Students with Learning Disabilities
