      Taurus likes children but they are usually strict with them. The reason for this is they tend to treat their children – as they do most things in life – as their possessions. The positive side to this is that their children will be well cared for and well supervised. They will get every material thing they need to grow up properly. On the down side, Taurus can get too repressive with their children. If a child dares to upset the daily routine – which Taurus loves to follow – he or she will have a problem with a Taurus parent.

      Major Trends

      Last year, for a few brief months, you got a foretaste of the changes – the spiritual and career changes – that will happen this year. Last year, Jupiter and Uranus flirted with your 12th house of spirituality, and then returned to your 11th house. This year both these planets move in for the long term.

      So the year ahead is intensely spiritual. It is about inner growth, contacting the Divine within you, gaining spiritual insights on yourself and on life. The dictum ‘first seek ye the kingdom of heaven and all else shall be added on to you’ certainly applies to you in the year ahead. For it is your spiritual understanding and guidance that will bring both financial and career success. There is great irony here, for Taurus is one of the most practical, down-to-earth signs in the zodiac. Yet, you are ‘other worldly’ these days – and it works for you in practical ways.

      Love was tested last year and will get tested again this year – after March 12. Only a strong committed relationship can survive this.

      Health was good last year and seems good in the year ahead as well.

      Your overall social life is still happy, but not as important as it has been for many years. Probably you are more or less satisfied with this area of life and have no need to make dramatic changes. Neptune will make a major move into your 11th house (a flirtation really – a prelude to next year) from April 4 to August 5. This shows that new, spiritual-type friends are coming into your life.

      The other headline is that we have four (yes, four) solar eclipses this year. This is double the usual amount. All told there will be six eclipses (counting the lunar ones). This means that 2011 is a year of dramatic change for the world as a whole. This is perhaps your greatest challenge. Taurus more than most signs dislikes change. So learning to deal with change in a calm way is your spiritual lesson.

      Your areas of greatest focus and interest in 2011 will be the body, the image, personal appearance and personal pleasure (from June 4 to the end of the year); health and work; religion, philosophy, higher education, foreign travel; career (from January 1 to April 4 and from August 5 to the end of the year); friends, group activities, organizations; spirituality (from January 22 onwards).

      Your paths of greatest fulfilment this year will be friendships, groups, group activities (until January 22); spirituality (from January 22 to June 4); the body, image, personal pleasures (from June 4 onwards); religion, philosophy, higher education and foreign travel (until March 4); personal transformation and reinvention, detox, occult studies, sex (from March 4 onwards).

      Health

      Your health aspects were good last year and they look even better in the year ahead. Overall energy is good. Your 6th house is strong this year, which shows a focus on health.

      Since there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with you, I read this as being involved in preventative measures – in disciplined daily regimes.

      Good though your health is, you can make it even better. Pay more attention to the following organs:

       Neck and throat (regular neck massage is always good for you – cranial sacral therapy as well)

       Kidneys and hips (hips should be regularly massaged)

       Spine, knees, teeth, bones, overall skeletal alignment (regular back massage and visits to a chiropractor or osteopath would be a good idea; give the knees more support when exercising)

       Gall bladder.

      Venus is your health planet. In the physical body, she rules the kidneys and hips, hence their importance in overall health.

      Venus is a fast-moving planet. In the course of the year ahead she will move through all the signs and houses of your horoscope. Thus, different therapies and modalities will work better or worse depending on where Venus is and the aspects that she receives.

      Venus rules love and beauty. Love and health tend to go together. If there are problems in love, there tend to be problems in health. If there are problems in health, there tend to be problems in love. Also, disharmonies in your marriage or with friends can be the spiritual root cause of problems. Thus if (heaven forbid) health problems arise, check out your marriage and love relationships – restore harmony there as quickly as possible.

      Healing modalities such as colour therapy, sound therapy, mandala therapy are powerful for you. If you don’t have time for intense study, if you feel under the weather just spend some time in a park or other place of great natural beauty. Go to the most beautiful spot in your village or town, and just spend time there. Nothing special you need to do – the vibrations of beauty will have a healing, uplifting effect. Some people get good results from going to an art gallery or concert. This is also worth trying if you feel under the weather.

      Saturn in your 6th house of health shows the importance of the spine, knees, teeth, bones and skeletal alignment. Saturn also shows that in health matters you tend to be conservative and will probably gravitate to orthodox medicine. Even if you opt for alternative therapies, they will tend to be traditional and time tested – well known, with long track records.

      In health, you want long-term cures and not short-term quick fixes. Hence you are more into healthy lifestyles this year.

      Home and Family

      Your 4th house of home and family is not a ‘house of power’ this year. This tends to indicate a status-quo kind of situation. On the one hand you have more freedom and latitude here, on the other you don’t have too much interest. Things seem good as they are.

      This year could be different, however. Your family planet, the Sun, gets eclipsed four times this year – very unusual. I don’t recall seeing such phenomena for many years. Thus, short-term problems can arise in the home (and the family). These eclipses will test your home. If there are hidden problems, the eclipses will reveal them so that you can correct them.

      These eclipses also show upheavals within the family unit – conflicts, explosions, arguments and the like. Emotions are turbulent and unstable. These eclipses also bring dramatic events with parents or parent figures. (If you are a woman, the dramas are with father figures, if you are a man, the dramas are with the mother figures.)
