In 1782-5 his fees were much smaller than those he received at a later date, and in the years just before his death he made from twelve thousand to fourteen thousand dollars per annum.

      Some idea of his professional work and the sums received therefor may be derived from an inspection of a kind of journal or cash book to which reference has already been made.
