Life can be brutal
Other bees fly in pairs
A flock of birds commute together
From flower to flower bounty they share
In all manner of weather
Oh those industrious bees
They gift the world not with money
How they hustle, how they bustle
And trade their life
For a single speck of honey
Time
Light bounces of the silver ocean
She walks on the soft sand
Busy servants sweeping motion
Palm leaves gentle land
Reach through time and space
Breeze caresses the green meadow
You touch my scared face
A heart, and voice so hollow
World will exact its toll
When flesh is no longer keen
All are doomed to fall
Better days have been
Time you treacherous thief
Unseen in the night
Life ever so brief
Ushers the fading light
How can any man agree
And willingly comply
Not to thirst, hunger, feel or see
Or surrender when he is to die
The twilight days
Have come so fast
Like the suns dying rays
All that one can see is the past
Nothing more to say
And very little to do
To the sky hope and prey
When the reaper comes for you
Taxi
I fell in the middle of somewhere
North of the black stump
I paid my fare
It got me over the hump
Old man took my hand
Showed me his wondrous reign
Smiley weathered face a headband
Hand in my pocket a costly pain
Another offered a helping hand
A good Samaritan bless his soul
It was all part of master plan
To extract a gleeful toll
I happen upon a young man
In a red and black uniform
Who said rest by this cooling fan
Ill find the answer on my phone
He thought about my troubles
In a kind voice he did declare
I have an answer to your problem
Though you have to commit to a fare
His cohort at once came running
Exclaiming offer of assistance
Sadly your home is trembling
But its of no importance
At last I met kind traveler
Who did assist in my hour of need
Chose not to exact a pound of flesh
Instead, with kindness he planted a seed
Replenished and reinvigorated
My faith in human creed
For there are kind and helpful men
In all of Earths lands there are indeed
Water
A warm winters night
Is obscene with no delight
Like a dozer’s relentless mighty push
Which sterilizes our noble bush
I remember the promise of green
And bubbling of life divine
Running water so pristine
Natural world was yours and mine
But what of it I hear you say
All of this earth must die
Tis not point to fear today
And none are yet to utter a cry
Its not death that I fear
Nor its cohort decay
But black air that fill my lungs dear
For the future of this jewel I pray
Man cant live on bread alone
Industry needs meat
Headstrong heart has turned to stone
And soon he wont need his feet
Progress will not be denied
In this there is no merit
Life quality has declined
Our children will bear it
