FIONA BURNESS – Technical Stage Manager
Fiona has been a technician for 14 years. Working mainly venue based, she started her career in the Lemon Tree, Aberdeen where she was a sound engineer and theatre technician for 8 years. Having then worked in the new Grove Theatre, Dunstable and Aberdeen’s Music Hall, Fiona has spent the last 2½ years as a freelance technician and stage manager based in Glasgow working with artists Donna Rutherford and Nic Green and companies including Scottish Youth Theatre, Scottish Opera, Plan B and Youth Music Theatre UK to name a few.
JANE HAMILTON – Press & Marketing Manager
Jane Hamilton is a Press and Marketing consultant who has been involved in the arts in Scotland for 20 years. Jane specialises in press, publicity and promotion and has provided press and marketing support for theatre, film, dance, galleries and other creative organisations in Scotland.
Jane has worked with Random Accomplice on their previous three shows Promises Promises, Smalltown and Double Nugget. She also works with National Theatre of Scotland (Allotment, A Christmas Carol, One Day in Spring & Reveal 2012). She has also been involved with the Scotland Loves Anime festival since its inaugural festival in 2010. Other companies Jane has worked with include David Leddy/Fire Exit (on the award-winning shows White Tea and Susurrus), Vanishing Point Theatre Company, Playwrights’ Studio Scotland, Theatre Cryptic and Ankhur Productions. She also carried out the hugely successful press campaign for the launch of Black Camel Production’s first feature film Outpost (Sony 2009).
Jane is the Press & Publicity Advisor for the Cultural Enterprise Office in Scotland.
KAY HESFORD – Stage Management
Since graduating from the University of Glasgow in Theatre, Film and Television, Kay has worked for numerous companies such as Paragon Ensemble, Tall Stories, Suspect Culture, and The Tron. As a founding member of Bard in the Botanics she was production manager for their festival for many years and continues to be an associate artist. She was Technical Administrator at Gilmorehill G12 for three years, and since becoming freelance again she has stage-managed for a number of companies including Magnetic North, Birds of Paradise, Macrobert, The Traverse Theatre and Random Accomplice.
JAMIE MACDONALD – Animation
Jamie graduated from Jordanstone College of Art and Design in 2003 with an honours degree in Drawing and Painting. Since 2005 he has been based in Glasgow – teaching, illustrating, designing and animating for various companies including Scottish Opera, NTS, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Visible Fictions, Tron Theatre, Macrobert, The Arches and Random Accomplice. He is particularly proud of his work with Random Accomplice, having created animated trailers for past shows Promises Promises, Smalltown and Double Nugget and also one for See Thru Sam.
JAMES MACKENZIE – Uncle Herbie/Chip the Grip/Walrus
James trained at Queen Margaret University College Edinburgh.

James is probably best known as Raven, appearing regularly on CBBC. He has also appeared in: Danni’s House (The Foundation/BBC TV), Smart Guest Presenter (CBBC), Sleeping Beauty (CBBC Christmas Special); See You See Me – Presenter (BBC); Still Game series V (Comedy Unit/BBC Scotland); Rebus (Clerkenwell Films/STV) and Taggart (STV).
Radio includes: 44 Scotland Street (BBC Radio 4), A Small Blue Thing (BBC Radio Scotland), A Meeting in Service (BBC Radio Scotland) & various short stories and children’s programmes for BBC Radio Scotland.
JOHNNY MCKNIGHT – Writer and Director
Johnny trained at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on the BA Honours (Contemporary Theatre Practice) course. His directing credits include: Love Hurts, Smalltown, Promises Promises (Scotland, London, New York runs), Marymassacre, Something Wicked, Little Johnny’s Big Gay Adventure (Random Accomplice); Aganeza Scrooge (Tron Theatre); Jackie & The Beanstalk, Snow White, Mother Goose, Little Shop of Horrors (macrobert); Bye Bye Birdie (Dance School of Scotland); Burying Your Brother In The Pavement (RSAMD/National Theatre); Hinterland, DNA, MicroShakespeare, Choose Your Channel (RSAMD). He has also worked as a performer with a multitude of arts organisations including: National Theatre of Scotland, Arches Theatre, Complete Productions, Scottish Opera, 7:84 Theatre Company, macrobert Arts Centre, Glasgow Repertory Company and Visible Fictions.

ALAN PENMAN – Composer and Sound Designer
Alan Penman trained at the RSAMD and has 20 years experience in composing, arranging and performing music for theatre, television and radio.
He is a versatile composer whose work has ranged from huge orchestral pieces, to music for children’s television.
Alan has written and arranged scores for all sizes of band and orchestra and also arranges, produces and records his music in his own studio in Edinburgh.
He has worked and performed in most major theatres in Scotland; in the last year, clients have included the National Theatre of Scotland, Edinburgh Lyceum and Macrobert Centre.
