      49:1 And the Pharisees were filled with madness; and then they went out, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus, how they might destroy him. (Mt 12:14; Mk 3:6; Lk 6:11)

      49:2 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself with his disciples from thence to the sea: (Mt 12:15; Mk 3:7)

      UG 51. Sermon on a mountain (Mt 5:1—7:29; Lk 6:17—49)

      51:1 And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases; (Lk 6:17)

      51:2 And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed. (Lk 6:18)

      51:3 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all. (Lk 6:19)

      51:4 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him. (Mt 5:1)

      51:5 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, (Mt 5:2; Lk 6:20)

      51:6 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of God. (Mt 5:3; Lk 6:20)

      51:8 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. (Mt 5:5)

      51:10 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. (Mt 5:7)

      51:11 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. (Mt 5:8)

      51:12 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. (Mt 5:9)

      51:13 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Mt 5:10)

      51:14 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. (Mt 5:11; Lk 6:22)

      51:15 Rejoice ye in that day, and be exceeding glad: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets which were before you. (Mt 5:12; Lk 6:23)

      51:16 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. (Lk 6:24)

      51:17 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. (Lk 6:25)

      51:18 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. (Lk 6:26)
