Fish are a potent wealth-bringers. Choose nine fish, because the number nine indicates heaven on earth, and make sure one fish is black, to symbolically absorb any negative energy.

      The Number of Fish

The number nine represents the fullness of heaven and earth. You should therefore keep eight red, gold, or silver and red fish together with a single black fish. This combination of eight yang-colored fish with one yin- colored fish will ensure not just prosperity but also protection against loss and treachery. If you wish to keep more than nine goldfish, you should keep them in multiples of nine. However, if you are intending to keep an arrowana, a single arrowana in the north sector is the most potent. If you want to keep more than one, five is a good number.

      The Arrowana or Dragon Fish

In recent years the tropical arrowana or dragon fish has become increasingly popular as a powerful Feng Shui energizer of wealth luck, but is also used extensively as a symbol of protection. The shape and color of these exceptionally beautiful fish vary according to where they originate. Those wishing to keep arrowana should be careful — it is only those varieties whose scales show a tinge of pink, gold, or silver that are prized specimens for Feng Shui purposes. These fish are extremely expensive, both to buy and to maintain, since they generally prefer to feed on live fish, prawns, and worms. However, I do urge you to try to teach your arrowana to feed on fish pellets, as I did, since feeding them live bait is really bad for your karma.

      The Goldfish

The Chinese word kum yu means both goldfish and gold in abundance. For this reason the deep red goldfish is the all-time favorite symbol for excellent wealth Feng Shui. To use the goldfish to enhance your wealth Feng Shui, it is a good idea to go for the varieties that look fat and prosperous and are red or gold in color. Thus the specially developed Japanese ryukins, which are a bright red, are an excellent choice. The lion-headed Chinese varieties that have white silver scales and a bright red head are also excellent. When you choose your black goldfish, make sure that it swims vigorously and is completely black with no other markings.

Keep your goldfish in an aquarium, or in a goldfish bowl with a filter to ensure the water stays clean and oxygenators to keep the water energized with Yang energy. It is particularly beneficial to place your aquarium at floor level so that you look down at the fish from above. Place this auspicious water feature in the north part of your garden or living room for maximum good luck, or place it in the east or southeast. Never place live goldfish in water in the south part of your home. In the south, goldfish can sometimes do more harm than good.

Please remember that you should never mix your fish species; they simply cannot coexist. Fish can be extremely cannibalistic of other varieties!

Arrowana fish are good Feng Shui because they energize your wealth luck.

      The Carp

The story of the sturgeons of the Yellow River valiantly swimming against the current to reach and jump over the Dragon Gate (lung men) during the third moon of each year, thereby turning into celestial dragons, has become the legend of the dragon carp. It has made the carp a symbol of perseverance and martial, literary, and scholastic success. From this legend certain rituals evolved which, over time, have come to be part of the traditions observed by the noble families of China.

In Chinese legend, the carp swims upstream and over the mythical “dragon gate” to transform into an awesome dragon. Displaying the dragon carp in your home attracts academic success.

The carp seldom fails to deliver. So if you wish your children to excel in their examinations and go on to carve magnificent careers for themselves, keep lots of carp in a pond inside or outside the house. If you intend to keep fish outside, then you must ensure that they are protected from predators. There is also a strict taboo that Feng Shui masters stress time and time again, and that is if you have a pond outside the house you must be sure that it is on the left hand side of the front door, rather than the right. If the pond is on the right rather than the left, wealth may ensue but it will also bring a breakdown in relationships within the household.

Alternatively, and perhaps even more effective, is to find an image of the dragon carp. If you visit Hong Kong, China, or your local Chinatown, look out for a pair of dragon carp fashioned out of wood, porcelain, or brass and place them high above the entrance doorway into your home. The material they are made of should reflect the element of the facing direction of the door. So doors facing east, south, and southeast would benefit from wood images; doors facing northeast or southwest would benefit from porcelain images; while those facing west, north, and northwest would benefit from metallic images. The presence of the dragon carp above the doorway indicates that each time you step out of the home you become a dragon, full of strength, determination, and courage. As if by magic, you will feel yourself taking on the attributes of the mighty dragon.

The dragon carp image is especially excellent for those hoping to rise up the corporate career ladder, those in the political field seeking election or promotion, and those in the military. The dragon carp image is probably one of the best gifts you can possibly give to an aspiring politician, civil servant, or anyone set on a career where upward mobility depends on attracting power luck.

The double fish is an ancient symbol of sexual union and successful partnerships.

      The Double Fish Symbol

In ancient China, fish were almost always included as one of the items in the betrothal gifts given to the parents of the bride. A pair of fish was symbolic of the joys of union, particularly of a sexual nature and the fish emblem was also believed to be a charm against bad luck since it is included among the auspicious signs on the footprints of the Buddha.

The double fish symbol is regarded as one of the eight treasures and is usually embroidered on to door curtains and pillowcases for good luck. The double fish symbol is both a protective amulet and an enhancer of good chi, Sheng Chi, worn to attract good luck. In Thailand, children are often given the double fish symbol to wear around their necks. These are usually made of gold, and sometimes set with precious stones like rubies, sapphires, and emeralds.

I have discovered that if the double fish symbol is present when the family is together, it ensures that the family stays together harmoniously. The phrase “staying together” has many implications — it means that no harm will come to any member of the family, no outsider will entice a member of the family away, there are good relations between the generations and between siblings and, most important of all, the husband and wife will not do anything to jeopardize the unity of the family. Divorces and separations will thus be reduced.

The best way to introduce this is in the dining area where the family sits down together for a meal. In the past, double fish symbols were carved onto dining tables. In my own home I have designed a glass-topped turntable very СКАЧАТЬ
