      • At least four ounces of sea salt that does not say “iodized” or “iodine added”

      • At least six teaspoons (about one half ounce) of cayenne pepper powder, not capsules. Regular cayenne is about 30,000 heat units. You can use hotter if you like.

      • A box of at least ten herbal laxative tea bags. I recommend those teas with 50 percent senna rather than pure senna leaf tea.

      • At least eight gallons of spring, purified or distilled water without added fluoride or chlorine for the lemonade, salt water flush and a cup of laxative tea each evening. Fluoride was used for decades as rat poison. It is very injurious to human health and studies have shown it to increase the risk of cancer and hip fractures.

      • One box or bottle of probiotics to be taken per the directions on the bottle or box after you return to eating solid food.

      • These ingredients should be easy to find at any health food store, not grocery store.       • Do not buy cayenne in capsules. According to Dr. Richard Schulze, a master herbalist, people who take cayenne capsules do not receive much of the benefit of the cayenne. The nerve endings in the mouth respond almost instantly to send blood throughout the body. This whole process is missed if you take capsules. People who “hate” it or “can’t stand it” have simply used too much for their first taste. It is a learned taste. The way to handle “hating” it is to start by adding only a sprinkle and then gradually build up the amount as you can tolerate it.

      • Do not buy pre-mixed powders or ingredients. They must be pasteurized by law, which kills most of the enzymes in the lemon/ lime juice. I know from the personal experience of coaching someone who was using bottled lemon juice that it did not produce very good results until she switched to fresh squeezed lemon juice. Likewise, avoid all powders and pills for the same reason: dehydrated powders do not have the same effectiveness as fresh enzymes.

      • Do not buy additional vitamins or supplements. Burroughs says three times in his book, The Master Cleanser, not to take any other supplements. Fasting has been a powerful and natural way to heal and rejuvenate the body for thousands of years. Animals instinctively fast when they are ill. The Master Cleanse is a juice fast. Adding anything to it merely reduces the power of the fast.

      • Do not buy kits that contain less than 64 ounces of organic maple syrup. Some providers try to lower their price by shorting the amount of maple syrup because maple syrup is the most expensive item in the cleanse.

       Quick Start

      They say you cannot please everyone, but I am going to try. There are those people who like to have all the information before they start. I understand you because I am like that most of the time. However, sometimes I just want to jump in and start. If I need the details, I will get them when I need them. For you, I have created this Quick Start.

      Just begin here and consult the index or alphabetical table of contents for whatever details you need when you need them.

      Read the Shopping List before this section, if you have not already done so.

      • The night before and every night of the cleanse, drink one cup of herbal laxative tea before bed.

      • Before drinking any lemonade, each day of the cleanse, drink thirty-two ounces of spring, purified or distilled water with two TEASPOONS of sea salt.

      • During each day of the cleanse, drink 6 to 12 glasses of lemonade:

      2 tablespoons (1 fluid ounce) of fresh-squeezed lemon/lime juice

      2 tablespoons (1 fluid ounce) of organic, Grade B maple syrup

      1/10 teaspoon of cayenne pepper or to taste

      8 ounce of medium-hot (or cold if you prefer) spring, purified or distilled water.

      • As much herbal mint tea and/or water as you wish.

      • Do not eat anything else; no solid food. The only exception is prescribed medications. Do not discontinue prescriptions without consulting a licensed health care practitioner.

      • Breaking the cleanse: First day after the cleanse, slowly drink several glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice. If you experience any digestive problems, dilute the orange juice with water. Second day, freshly squeezed orange juice all day for vegetarians. Others should make a homemade vegetable soup in the afternoon from several different vegetables, such as carrots, celery, potatoes, onions, tomatoes, green peppers, zucchini, beans, peas, lentils, brown rice, and dehydrated veggies or spices. Use sea salt sparingly. No meat or meat stock. Drink mostly the broth for dinner. Third day, freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning for vegetarians, followed by fresh fruit for lunch and a fruit or raw vegetable salad for dinner. Others drink orange juice in the morning, have the rest of the soup for lunch and eat a vegetarian dinner limited to fruit, salad or vegetables.

      • I recommend on the third day after the cleanse, you begin to take probiotics per the instructions on the box or bottle to replace any good bacteria that may have been flushed out of you.

      1. Length of Time, and Frequency

      The Master Cleanse should be done for at least ten days. Burroughs says it can be done for forty or more days. I’ve personally done it more than nine times from ten to twenty-eight days (and once for three days)—all within two years. Burroughs is right about ten days being the minimum. The three-day Master Cleanse left me feeling as though nothing had been accomplished. I can hear you saying, “Ten days?! Is he crazy?” Amazingly, you will not be hungry and you will have more energy than you felt before the Master Cleanse.

      In addition to my own longer Master Cleanses, I know of three other people who have done it for twenty days. All of us found that there were spiritual gains after eight or ten days: a clarity of purpose, a sense of focus, a feeling of well being, and a discovery that our natural emotion is one of cheerful satisfaction.

      Burroughs says the best sign that the Master Cleanse is complete is a clear, pink tongue. Your tongue will definitely get coated and turn white and possibly other colors. Not everyone continues until their tongue is clear and pink. If you want to quit sooner, you can. The Master Cleanse is not like a school grade that you only do once. You can do it three or four times a year, each time detoxing more. Most stop at ten days

      regardless of tongue color. However, ten days is long enough to make a major change in your weight, health and mental outlook.

      How soon can you do another Master Cleanse? It’s best to space out your Master Cleanses by three or four months and eat lots of fresh greens and salads in between or drink daily green smoothies. СКАЧАТЬ
